There are several different generations of the Transporter Kombi, each with its own unique features and characteristics. Whether you opt for a classic T1 model or a modern T6.1, it’s essential to consider factors such as fuel efficiency, size, and budget when selecting the perfect base vehicle for your conversion.
Designing Your Layout
Once you’ve chosen the right model for your VW Transporter Kombi conversion, it’s time to start designing your layout. This step is crucial as it will determine the functionality and comfort of your camper van. Consider factors such as sleeping arrangements, storage space, seating capacity, and kitchen facilities when creating your layout.
Many converters opt for a simple yet functional layout that includes a bed that converts into a seating area, a small kitchenette with a stove and sink, and ample storage for camping gear and supplies. Others prefer a more luxurious setup with fixed beds, full kitchen facilities, and even a shower and toilet.
